Bananas Anyone?!?!?

I was in my backyard yesterday getting it all ready for spring time. As I was about to cut the tops of our banana trees off, before I starting cuting I notice something hanging from underneath some dead leaves.

It's a bunch of new bananas that made it through the winter.......Whoooot!! We believe due to the dead leaves keeping it covered helped to keep the frost and cold from killing them.

We bought another banana tree that should last through our winters, last fall. It's still a baby, and by next year it should start to bloom.

We've started a tropical garden last year, and if anyone is looking for those hard to find plants, I strongly recommend this site. http://www.alohatropicals.com/ Based outta SoCal.

So far, we have ordered 10 plants/trees from them and they came well packaged and on time.:tup:
