Hello, i finally got a Silver 2005 LGT with 43K miles, i had to drive it home for about 500 miles and at the end of the trip car started to revving like crazy in 5th at 70mph. At the next light i smelled the clutch, made it home barley. I am new to driving AWD but i was carefull and not shifting hard, revmatching and easy starts. Can the cluch be burned in 500 miles of highway driving, or did the seller had it burned before.
I was reading about different clutches, i will be going stage 2 and some, what clutch should i get, and possibly have the same *stock* feeling. Do i need to change a flywheel as well or just resurface. I ve heard ACT is good, what do you recommend, and possibly have a part number if you can. I NEED HELP. Thanks

Congrats on the LGT!!

It sounds like the seller burned out the clutch and sold it as is, so he wouldn't have to deal with it. Bummer mang!!!:(

I've heard alot of good things about ACT Clutches. If you have plans to go stage 2 then I would recommed replacing the flywheel when installing a new clutch due to the heat build up. Otherwise, if you decide to stay stock you can shave the flywheel down once.

Thanks DOOKIE, i LOVE the car, pulls crazy in 3rd, well it did, but the seller is kind enought to pay for the replacment, so i called subau and they wanted a $1400 for stock clutch, i can get a ACT stage two and a new flywheel for that. Thats what i was plainning on doing, thanks for responce
