New member saying hi! Just joining! Looking at potentially purchasing an 05 Leg GT LTD. 5 spd. either wagon or sedan. Anything I should look out for?

Welcome to the ORG! Just make sure you get the car checked out by a trusted mechanic and make sure you test drive it taking note of any strange noises/ feelings/ stuffs...

Also, I have heard that the 05's in particular are blowing up turbos around the 60k mark??? someone correct me on this please...

Just 2 clarify 2pt5RS, all LGTs r 5-speeds, either 5EAT or 5MT. I assume u mean stick so if you want a 5MT wagon they only made them in '05.

Han from what I read all the VF-40s blow up fairly early regardless of the year but the 05's do have the catted UP so thats 1 weak point vs. other yrs. But I'm @ 65k and no issue yet. (borrowed time?)

I didn't really read into detail on the cause and if it really is common, but from the few thread I did read, it didn't sound too good. MAybe it is the cat in the up-pipe, meow and the combination of the banjo screen that is causing the turbos to fail???

ANYWAYS< dont let this prevent you from the purchase of an LGT. It is a great car.

I have an '05, the only issue I've had is the cooling fan relay had to be replaced twice. Other than that, no turbo issues here........it's all about proper maintance.

Plus my car is at 60k.
