What is this problem? Auto/Manual both? I stopped visiting that "other" place a long time ago.

Mine def had it too........AP Stage I was much better.....and after my install of all parts and a tune......the only hesitation is the passengers scared of getting in ;)

are you guys talking about something like when you first get on the gas and it takes a second for the motor to respond? or something different?

Not all of us have the luxury of having a local tuner..

Not all of us have the luxury of having a local tuner..:mad:Where have you been? It's an off-the-shelf map that he'll send you by e-mail after you Paypal him $150. Or, you can buy the AP from TDC with the stage 1 map installed for $700 ($55 more than the regular price). He has a lot of different stage 2 maps as well, for different mod permutations.
Here's the link to the TDC web store, but the site seems a little screwed up right now. http://www.tdctuning.com/catalog/index.php

I'd rather have it tuned for my specific car though...on a dyno...I may get on the wagon for the local tuning day....

Nearly everyone who has gotten a TDC off-the-shelf map thinks it is superior to the comparable Cobb map. Also, John from TDC will tweak the map for you ("e-tune") if you send him data logs.

No, hesitation as in hesitation.

Haha, nice to see DM back ;)
Hesitation didn't go away completely for me with the AP... TDC maps took care of that though.

i personally had all the problems u can have with a legacy. probably just bad luck. had my ecu replaced twice because of fan comming on when engine is off, and hesitation.. cylinder blew....
anyways... after everything is fixed.. my car is probably totalled. But even now, i still notice engine hesitation. Then i found out, that legacy runs like **** under the sun. but at night, its a monster. my friends wrx is the same. run good at night, in the sun, not so well. So, try experimenting ur car. drive crazy during the day, and drive the same way at night, see if u notice differences. Also, be aware of knocks. a lil bit is okay, but if ur car starts to knock often in the higher rpms, try getting some octane boosters(fuel addictives). msg me if u have any more problems.

Heat-soak's a huge performance killer.
And what's worse, it's effects are most noteable, to the daily-tasks driver, off-the-line, where our vehicles should noteably excel.
Even with the vehicle just at normal operating temperatures and with ambient temperatures in the high 70s, sitting at a longer stoplight can contribute significantly to heat-soak. If you have the ability to datalog or otherwise monitor timing in real-time, you can note this effect as the vehicle actively pulls timing under initial-start WOT situations after prolonged "sitting in the sun."
