^ Hey Mike,

Nope - it's a beautiful weekend (for me, at least  I'm a polar bear, so I like it best when it's sunny and cold), but I'm really afraid of what might happen if we encounter another snow storm, which is distinctly possible, given that it's only the second week of March (and it's a "Sara car" year - the last time that happened, we got a snow storm on Mother's Day).

I'm going to do the install at the same time that I switch over to summer tires, which, at the earliest, won't happen until 4 weeks from now.

I really don't foresee any problems with the install. The walk-through posted on .com is very straightforward, and the piece seems to be well-made.

U got more willpower than me. I'd be 2 anxious 2 see how it looked 2 w8 another month. So every winter you're gonna take it off then. Probably what I'd do 2.

Can one of you guys link the .com post about this piece, please?

Thanks man. Maybe it's just that I'm a cheap SOB, but that seems expensive for such a small piece of plastic. :)

^ Yep, it's expensive, I agree - particularly for something so exposed.

That's why the DIY lip really appealed to me. Done right, it looks good, and to those not familiar with the mod (even other Scooby enthusiasts), it can appear to be a pricy aftermarket.

I never went with the FRP one because I was afraid of damage - the PU one *should* be more durable, hopefully.

Nevertheless, I'm still only gonna use it for the summer months.

It's definitely not a cheap piece, but I guess it always comes down to the cost of the mold 2 make 'em. It does look gr8 on the car and I think this is the cheapest 1 available from any vendor and like Allen said it should be the most durable material available. I just wonder how it affects the aerodynamics of the car tho since you have 2b changin the direction of airflow under the car. I took off my undertray a long time ago cuz I h8 not bein able 2 see everything when I'm under the car but some1 on .com said if u remove that it affects the airflow so adversely it actually pushes air out thru the hood scoop instead of drawing air in from there. I don't see how that's possible once u get over a certain speed I would think the air would have 2 go correctly in thru the hood scoop but I'm no physics major.
:Dunno:

I had my name on that list for about a month, but then decided to invest my money elsewhere. I'm sure I'll get around to purchasing that lip in the next few months. Can't wait to see yo pics TSI.

^hehe

As for this lip.. I really like it. It would look good with my currently being blacked out grill. It says 05-07 though so I'm not sure if it could be made to work. I'm debating the garage door lip.. Looks like it works out okay on the 08s. I suppose if it looks like crap, it can be taken off and I'd only be out $20 or so..

'O8's r the same width as the '05-'07s but I'm guessin the bolt holes aren't gonna match up so I guess u could drill more holes in it but I think that's gonna compromise the integrity of the piece.
There was several '08 owners chiming in askin 4 this part so if u can rally the '08 troops 2 get 55 deposits I think he would make it happen.
