Alright i need some help. I seem to have a rattle and it sounds like it is coming from the tranny. I am going to be dropping it off at the dealer, but if I can fix it them I was hoping you all could help me. It sounds like playing cards in bicycle spokes, but I only hear it at super low RPM's. I can hear it when I am coming to a stop and when I first take off. Anyone know what it is?????

4 me, the rattle I had was my Cobb turbo heat shield. It broke and I only heard it @ low idle cuz anymore and the engine noise would drown it out. U sure it's from the tranny? Either u or u should have some1 else try and pinpoint the sound from outside the car.

More detail would be helpful. Auto? 5speed? Mods, if any?

I have a 5spd and as i listen to it, it goes away at higher speeds. It sounds more as if it is coming from the cat area. Im almost thinking i have some sort of back pressure. I can hear it at lower RPM's and when I am sitting I can rev it to about 6000 and as the RPM's drop I can hear the rattle a little bit.

i have removed the airbox silencer and put a KN airfilter in. Also i have been looking at exhaust so I wanted to see what it would sound like, so I tried the HOGZAUST and i think it ight be the cause.

First guess, on an '05, would be a loose/damaged heat-shield somewhere.

I say it's a heat shield, part of my DP shield was coming loose so I just cut a portion of it off.

well i found out what the rattle was. It was my engine.... found out that the place I had been taking my car for its up keep, well they didnt put enough oil in my car and it was burning up inside. Also looked like one of their mechanics had pulled off a couple tubes to my coolant. So its looking like they are going to be hit with a huge bill after I had to flush my engine. Thanks for all the help guys
