'We' don't have two forums. They are not associated in any way other then the fact they are both about the Legacy GT. Alot of peopel just happent o be members on both.

DO you have any idea what type of WHP numbers you are getting?

I last dyno'ed at 232whp on a Dyno Dynamics at SuperRupair in Boulder, CO at ~5300' with a 1.15 correction factor.

I'm waiting on an 18G to be shipped. I'm hopeful that it will push me close to 275whp.

...still waiting on brake pads. Apparently Hawk is about ready to release some.

Why not upgrade the calipers and all?

Why not upgrade the calipers and all?

The LGT already have a large caliper on the front. Besides, probably $400 for pads, lines and fuild versus $2500 for a brake kit? I do wish Subaru would have painted the stock calipers at the factory though. They are kind of ugly.

It would have been nice if they had painted them. You can get caliper paint though.:)

Front brakes are only around $1750 It's the rears that are expensive.

When I replace the pads, lines, etc. I'll probably pull them completely off and paint them. I don't like the idea of painting them while they are installed.

Duh! No one would expect you to paint them while still on the car.

Oh, you'd be surprised. I've got a WRX buddy who painted his by just removing his tire and masking off. Seems like more effort than just pulling them off.

I am suprised. Overspray sucks! I would not even have taken the chance.

Nice lookin' car with nice mods! Hope that 18G goes well. Was the HID conversion just a bulb and ballast deal? How does it look?

:thx: it's been fun building. the 18g should kick some serious ass.

Yeah, the HIDs were just the bulb and ballast. Luckily the LGTs come with projectors. The install was pretty simple, probably easier if you picked a different place to place the ballasts. I dropped the bumper to really put them out of the way. After one replacement, and a likely 'nother, I kind of wish I'd picked a handier place.

How does your cutoff line look? Does it retain the stock level? Also, do you get the color at the cutoff line like most OEM Projectors do? I have this fetish for projector HID's... Which I'm drooling over on the '06 STi!!

LGT Chris

very clean lines. i've jacked with mine to raise the driver's side by about 1/4" at 6' and the passenger's side about 1/2" at 6'. i can definitely see the lines on fences and other flat surfaces with only a very minor rainbow at the cutoff. i picked a "legal" temp, but adjusted the level up for better mountain road vision.

Donny at RPM hasn't responded back to me about my latest ballast problems. :( I may need to contact Xtec directly. It fires most of the time, but sometimes, especially after sitting for a while, it takes turning it on and off several times before it will come on. Very disappointing. Along with the non-user friendly halos. Sigh.

Just out of curiousity, did you try switching bulbs? Also, did you check your ground? When I had HID's in my Prelude, I had a similar problem, when I got a better ground, it seemed fine. More than likely tho it's probably your ballast

Yeah, that's the Red Rocks where they have shows. It's where they filmed the U2 Sunday Bloody Sunday live video! Best place to see music anywhere in the world!

I'm sure it is the ballast. I've replaced both already, but the driver's side is still being a problem. I believe the ground is good...right to the frame of the car. I just need to get a hold of XTec again. :(

I had the same ballast issues with a Polarion kit from Xenonfactory and the same unwillingness to swap it out. So much for 'warranty'

How did your halos break? Now you got me worried. I painted my calipers by taking the wheels off & painting them with a brush. They came out fine. Pretty easy IMO
