kagenmateer

So I installed a few things and, by request, here are a bunch of pics of the install. Sorry, no pics of the box build.
This pic may help some ppl because it took a lot of careful measuring to figure out this was the best place to put a grommet to run a 4 gauge power-wire through the firewall.

...and it's really convenient to attach your power wire to the nut on the top of the factory bracket:

The following pics show how I made spacers to ISO-mount the deck. This part was really tricky because they had to be the perfect size to not misalign the air vents so the vents would go back into the car right. I had to drill holes in the sides of the vents to put the screws in. In order to get the holes in the right spot, I had to make a cardboard template (no pic, sorry) of the side of my deck and line it up with the insides of the vents. Then, getting the screw through the air vent holes and through the spacers and into the right screw-hole on the deck took some time too. ..the whole thing was really frustrating and is one of the most challenging things I've done with car install. Makes glass work seem easy. It doesn't look like much, but it took a total of about 15 hours to get the deck situated.

I fabricated this pocket by taking a thin, universal plastic pocket from an aftermarket dash-kit and first grinded it to fit (long, tedious process), then sanded with 240 grit followed by some 400 grit. Then I painted it with black primer.

Pocket was attached to the top of the deck with hot glue (not pictured).

I had to hack the dash up so they would fit nicely:

Here's the amps in process. By the time I was done prepping it, there were a ton of wires hanging out the bottom of this thing:

And here's the final product pics from a few angles:
