What are the size (in inches) of the frontspeakers and rearspeakers in the LGT 05?

I used 6.5" speakers for both. Had to use 1" spacer for the front doors in order to clear the window. Plus you may have to modify the speaker hole a little depending on the speaker size, I have to cut and bend part of the metal housing around the edges for a perfect fit.

^^^ Correct. 6.5" all the way around. And, yes, mounting depth is an issue in these cars. Try to get speakers with neodymium magnets if you haven't already purchased them. Neodymium magnets are much smaller, so your mounting depth is a lot less. Not that spacing out a normal speaker is very difficult.

I have two sets of these on order: http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/mm/index.php?s=mm6501
Most bang for your buck speakers you'll find IMO

Ok great, then I know the situation :)

What do you think, is there any idea just to put in new speakers (front and rear) without puting in a amplifier? I am not out to play very loud, just to get a better sound compared to the original (that sucks... )

Technically speaking, the first step to getting better sound quality is changing the speakers. Just know they won't do near what they're capable of without more power, and I wouldn't call it quality without changing the head unit.

^^Agree

Here's a link to my speakers and amp install. Sorry for the small pics, the server I was using changed their format and caused all my pics to shrink. Let me know if you can't see them and I'll repost better pics from a newer server.

FYI - If you're not going to run an amp, make sure you're new speakers require less than 35 watts RMS. The RMS of our radios are around 15 watts, and max output is 30 watts.

Dookie: Thanks ! What a great sum up :)

Only a output of max 35 watts RMS, thatīs not to much...
I belive I`ll gonna think twice about not putting in a amp, what the ****, I do not want to regret me later on so itīs best to put in an amp at the beginning afterall :)

And I would say if you're gonna spend money on speakers, get the ones you want to end up with, regardless of power rating. Ya, they won't perform until you do some more upgrading, but if you're like me, you want to get things right the first time. But Dookie is right if you don't plan on changing the head unit or adding an amp. More efficient speakers will work much better with the stock system.

I like your input :)

I think I`ll go with a 4-channel amp, I think it is a Swedish brand named DLS CA41, then I will change both the front and rear speakers and put in Infinity Kappa 6,5" (probably...) I might also put in a small sub under the front seat ;) that is just a matter of money and proirity (my wife doesnīt like high sound or that I spend all the money on the car. But the things that she do know about will not hurt her either  Am I right or am I right :evilbanana:

^^^ Troof.

Speakers and amp sounds good.

You could fit a factory Subaru sub under the seat, but that is all. No other subwoofer would fit, so I would look into doing a simple ten in the trunk. It will significantly outperform the factory sub.
