Hey everyone, I'm a newbie to this forum. I was wondering if anyone can help me diagnose a problem I'm having with my 00 legacy 5 spd. I've just had both cv half shafts replaced and I'm still getting the grumbling clicking noise from both sides in the front end. The noise is worse now than it was before i had the fix. it has been getting progressively worse over the last week. The noise only really occurs at slow speeds, both turning left, right, and going straight. Can anybody hook me up with some opinions?

If u had the work done by an "official" garage and it wasn't u or some shadetree mechanic take it back 2 the place that did the work and tell 'em you're having problems worse than b4 u took it in.

^^^ Agreed. Was it a shop? Whomever diagnosed the problem confidently enough to do an expensive R/R, ought to be responsible for at least correcting his diagnosis.

Yup, from what you stated it sounds like something is wrong with the CV joints. Try not to drive it too much if the sound is getting worse, because the CV joints could lock up and cause major problems. Have the joints inspected from a professional shop.

Thanks for taking the time to give me your opinions, it's appreciated. The work was done at a garage that specializes in foreign cars. the first time i took it to the place i received my car back and a cv boot was missing. I took it back and had a new half shaft to replace the cv half shaft i just had replaced, no charge of course. I was just wondering if it could now be something else because of the new half shafts.

This is where I become very concerned with the integrity of said shop.

My motto........ If you want something done right the first time, do-it-yourself.
