OK,so I've been at Stage 2 for a while now and was simply not happy with COBB's latest (REV 1.15) Stage 2 map. It has flat spots in it and stops the stutter for only a few days. In my impatience for a better option from COBB, I began to look at other options. I considered going to a shop and having the car tuned on a dyno, but I really didn't want to pay the money it takes per hour to tune it.
Enter, TDC and their e-tune. It's basically maps that the owner has developed while tuning cars in person. He has lots of maps for various stages you may be in in your modding. For 150 dollars, you get the map and he even told me he'd update it if I did additional mods. You fill out a form at their website ( www.tdctuning.com ) telling what your mods are (uppipe, downpipe, catback, panel filter, etc.) and he selects the proper map for your particular car. The map arrives in the email and you load it into the Accessport, connect to the car and go for a drive- very simple.
What's it like? How about like a rocket ship? I'm simply amazed at how much more power he's able to get out of an engine I'd assumed was making all it could with the mods I had. The boost comes on almost immediately- no waiting at all with this map. First gear is gone like a shot, second is as powerful as third used to be and third is so powerful it's almost scary. The car presses you back in your seat and holds you there until you take your foot off the loud pedal. The engine feels a lot like a well tuned V8 matched to a perfect ratio of gears. On the highway, acceleration is just amazing. I rarely go over 80 or 85, but the idiot grin plastered across my face with the gas pedal down wouldn't allow me to be a responsible citizen.
Cliffs: TDC map r0x0rs my b0x0rs as well as the boxer under my hood. And no more checking cobbtuining.com for updates!

I wanna TDC tune by summer, sounds great.
Sorry Jedi, I have to agree with you on this !
I received my maps this week from Jon, first a base map, then a realtime map to flash over it, went out took some logs with ECU Explorer. Sent the logs back to him, and he updates the map and sends it back.
This car is awesome now :D

As some of you know I was TDC's first custom tune in a 5EAT. He spent alot of time with my car and it ran awesome. When the AVCS update came out he emailed me the update.
My car has been running like crap lately and dont know why. But, TDC is helping me by trying a couple new things (i.e. TPS parameters, and whatnot).
I want to give a shot out to TDC for helping a continued customer like myself.  :patriot:

I’ve been running a TDC map for months now, and its definitely an improvement over cobb stage 2.
I plan to get a full protune from TDC, and I’m hoping that will be another jump up in power and smoothness.
It seems like there is always another way to make more power  (and spend more money).
Since there’s always another mod to do, I haven’t gotten bored with the car at all. :)

I'm planning on getting TDC's map once i snag my LGT. they seem to have a great reputation and a very intimate knowledge of the car and motor. i'm stoked!

I just got TDC's stage 1 protune map. 237 to the wheels and pretty even power throughout.
well worth the cash, especially if your mod weary.

That's pretty damn good for a Stage 1 tune. I wonder what the Stage 2 e-tune makes.

so your saying stgII only makes 10 more HP than stgI protune?

Are we talking whp or crank hp here?
I'd like to know wheel and crank for Stage 2 TDC e-tune.
BTW, I hadn't installed the realtime map that was sent to me because I assumed it was a throttle mapping thing that I didn't want- TDCII told me to install it and I did. What a difference! It was something about tweaking the TMIC and the car is much more responsive now and holds 18 psi solid in 5th gear.

StgI TDC protune is 237 to the wheels, thats just an AP, no UP/DP
I would assume StgII is up in the 270-290 range.

Err, not at all. Anywhere from 240-260 at the wheels depending on no cat/aftermarket cat/OEM third cat. To get near 260HP, going to need more exhaust work, maybe headers, intake, blahblahblah... Jon's car is putting 25x down with at least headers in addition to UP/DP.
Don't think the stock turbo can even physically reach 280HP mark with every single mod possible.
Jon runs uncorrected numbers BTW.
PS With a Crucial shorty DP/UP, I put down 243/299

TDC sent me a map for my stage 2+ headers and Perrin TMIC. Boy what a difference over cobb stage 2. the car is smooth as silk and it goes lik a rocket.
