I recently bought an 05 LGT and have not been able to get the trunk release on the keyfob to work. The door release does work so im thinking its not the battery in the fob. Is there any fuses that need to be looked at to try to fix this or does it just need to be reprogramed. Anyhelp would be great.

I don't know if u know this or not but, u can't just press the
button like u do when u unlock. U gotta hold that button
down 4 like 2 secs.

Yea, I have been holding it down and still no luck, im going to look at the owners manual online to see if I can find anything out. I really would like to avoid going to the dealership to just findout that it was something simple.

Good chance the acuator might be bad.

I just went out and did that...no luck all i see on my trunk lid is the big white glow in the dark escape release lever. The acuator you speak of any clue on the price of one or where to find it? When I do hold the button down on the key fob I do get 2 beeps but not fast beeps like im unlocking or locking the doors but a slower set of 2 beeps.
edit-**I am a night shift worker and I am heading for bed any new replys will be seen when I wake up at about 2pm mountain time. Thank for all the help guys**

The trunk is supposed to be two slower beeps. That means the keyfob is communicating with the car, and blackfang is most likely correct. I would pull the liner off the inside of the trunk lid (easy) and look for the actuator. Then I would check that it's getting voltage and is being triggered. If it is, then it's most likely bad.
Blackfang, would you happen to know if the trunk actuator is + or - trigger?

Off the top of my head, I don't know.

Thanks for all the help guys. I plan on pulling the trunk lid apart and see what the actuator is doing. I also noticed that the brake light on my rear spoiler is not working, so maybe the previous owner did a full trunk lid swap and never plugged stuff back in right. I will keep you all in the loop on what happens.

Keep in mind, the wires run inside a plastic cover that goes down the right hinge IIRC.
