Ok was just curious about swapping the r160 to the r180 from a 07+ spec b, i know i will also need the 07+spec b rear axels.

My question is do i need the spec b driveshaft as well? what else will/would i need?

Spec b has a torsen/helical rear differential/ and its stronger.

And i think the axels are stronger as well

interesting.. i was wondering the same thing the other day. but nobodu on here or .com has ever done it.

ya on .com there is a post about switching the entire transmission and rear end with the spec b, but nothing about only switching the r160 with the r180 rear end. I think i like my 5 speed more then id like a 6 speed. (less shifting more flooring.):D here is the 6 speed swap on .com http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/6mt-master-swap-thread-107137.html

But with a weak/weaker rear end im kinda scared 2 aggressively launch my car/take to the 1/4 mile.(ok im definitly scared)
