Here are a few bike racks I have been looking at.
From My experiance, if you have the SEDAN you are looking at spending around $400 for a roof rack, and about $200 for a hitch mount, $150 for a trunk mount.
It is Definatly cheaper if you have the Outback (serious version) or the legacy sedan.

I have a Thule rack for my wagon. I use it for skis and bikes in the winter and bikes and boats in the summer. I don't run with it all the time...just when I need it. It comes off and goes on in <5 minutes as a whole unit. Very happy with it.

For those of you with wagons, there is a mod for the rear bar to allow you to bring the towers in closer so you can push the rear bar back further.

For those with wagoon/Outback-type Legacy vehicles, the OEM Subaru bike rack is actually Yakima. I used one on my '02 WRX wagoon but never sold it after trading for the STi. Turns out it's a perfect fit on the OBXT bars, so we were glad to have kept it around. Under $200 at subaruparts.com

I'm actually having my friend put a hitch on my car right now so I can use a hitch bike rack (he works at a shop so he can bang it out quick with the lift). I go mountain biking all the time when it's nice out & a roof rack seems like a big PITA to me.

I looked around, and www.rackattack.com (http://www.rackattack.com) in framingham gave me the best price, I just drove down and picked it all up......they have a tiny retail shop in the front and a big warehouse.....they are mainly a distributor/webstore......

Install.....

well....

lets just say.. read the directions and it will take you only about 20 minutes to put it on.

dont read the directions like I did...
about 45 minutes.
the only tool you need is a screw driver to pop out the rivets to put the locks in.
