So I lost my mind [Archive]

and went out and bought a Sony PSP yesterday. I got the basic one, a hard case, a 1 gig stick and a game. Having connectivity issues with the web browser- keeps telling me there's a DNS error, which doesn't make sense because the test connection worked and Google ain't been down in a long time.

Anyway, I put some wallpaper on it, played the game for a while and now I'm bored with it- what else can I do with this thing? I have little time to fart around with it and I'm beginning to think I wasted my money- where's the fun?

I did buy the Sony DSC-W30 6 megapixel digital camera FTW.

DS FTL!!!! jk I love my DS but I havent touched it sence christmas because i got a PSP :lol:

jedi, PM me with your email and i can send you some sick backrounds for it, my favorite is the lgt.org logo, just drag it and put it on your memory stick :) I can also send you some links to software for it including emuators for a few systems. BTW what firmware you runnin it says it under system info. if its over 1.5 you will need to get Grand theft auto to run anything not sony.

Not sure about that but there is an AP type thing that does work with a gameboy.

Oh thats bc there is an exploit for the game that lets you access the psp's software... and just do what you want.

Sony overlooked the hole in the loading part of GTA, now i am scared to update to the next version but know I will be tempted to when they basicly make a PS1 emulator for it as part of the firmware. They will sell the games for it and you know that they will be alll over limewire soon after they are released as well as possably some new security flaws hopefully, or maybe open code for the firmware so these steps dont need to be taken to run emulation and homebrew.

PSP - bleh.

I like my Gameboy Advanced SP with the 512Mb cartridge filled to the max with emulated NES games and a few other cool things.

That is pretty cool mike. The PSP can actually run dreamcast and N64 games but I am not sure on how well.64 should be fine though. I have 2.6 firmware so i can only run a few things so its kind of a bummer but i can play new games on it lol.

I hate that game and dont see how its so popular. I personaly want konkers bad furday. I wonder if The DS could run it, They did a nice port of mario64 on it.

The speaker on the PSP is garbage... but teh graphix are pretty cool. From what I heard, don't do the firmware upgrade.. something about the new firmware locks it down.

Yeah the newer ones are harder to work with because of way better securitybut it will be cracked soon enough. I use my Shure E2c headphones wih it and it is great. For $100 they better be.

PSP has a version of mame :lol: and neogeo pocket so you nad get all metal slug and its smaller FTW

Well, I've been doing a lot of reading up on this in my free time and it looks pretty straightforward- just need to get myself a copy of GTA Liberty City stories- which is gay because I have no interest in the game itself :mad:

GTA is pretty fun actually but it gets old so fast. tokobot is pretty cool, and ridgeracer is great even though its an old PSP game.
