THE OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Our SoCal LegacyGT ranks have grown significantly over the past few months and so that just begs the question, when can we get together?
So - let's do a fun run here in SoCal.
We'll kickoff with a mid-morning drive-in meet and group photo at Norm Reeves in Temecula. That would be reasonably central for most of the SoCal Subaru LGT crew. I would also expect that several 2.5RS, WRX and STI owners might want to join up too.
Once we get the majority of the group there, we could form up and make a freeway dash up to the Palm Desert Area arriving around lunchtime. Once there, we'd refuel (lunch for us and our cars) at one of the local establishments and grab another group photo. (~80 miles)
From there we'd head South on SR74 (Pines to Palms Hwy) up over the San Jacinto to Idyllwild. One of my favorite runs in all of SoCal and ideally suited to motorcycles and Subarus. Particularly gorgeous views at some of the pull outs. (~25 miles)
Once we get up to Idyllwild, we can do the snack and potty break and take some more photos.
From there, there's a couple of options - head down to Temecula on SR74 via Hemet (~45 miles) or, drop down through Anza and pick up SR79 into Temecula (~50 miles).
Proposed Itinerary (Saturday April 22nd - let's go relax)
1. Meet up at Norm Reeves Subaru (alternate location is Promenade Shopping CTR) in Temecula (900-1030)

From N - I-10 east to I-15 south then see above directions

5. Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto CA-371/CAHUILLA RD. (20.73 miles)
6. Turn RIGHT onto CA-74/PINES TO PALMS HWY. (24.24 miles)
7. Turn SLIGHT RIGHT. (0.01 miles)
8. Turn LEFT onto CA-111 N. (8.14 miles)
9. Turn RIGHT onto S GENE AUTRY TRL/CA-111 N. (3.81 miles)
10. Turn LEFT onto E VISTA Place CHINO/CA-111. (2.04 miles)
11. Turn LEFT onto N VIA MIRALESTE. (0.05 miles)
12. Turn RIGHT onto E COTTONWOOD RD. (0.03 miles)
13. End at Palm Springs, CA 92262 US
Total Estimated Time: 1 hour, 54 minutes
Total Distance: 78.84 miles
Our focus for the run into Palm Springs is RT74. These directions take us from RT74 right to CA111 where Islands is located.

It makes a fun, full day and it could be our Spring Fling before the Memorial Day weekend is upon us and then all of our Summer calendars start to fill up.

For anyone wishing to attend who will be driving from Los Angeles, I will be leading a caravan from the In and Out Burger on Washington and Lincoln in Marina Del Rey. This caravan will depart NO LATER THAN 0800 to allow ample time to get to the rally point in Temecula.
Feel free to invite any fellow Subie owners and definitely bring cameras and your sense of adventure. We hope to see our fellow LegacyGT owners from www.legacygt.org attend.
