*HELP--Wiper Issue--HELP*

I'm a forum noob and i couldn't find an exact place to put this thread but exterior/styling sounded close enough.

I'm having a major issue with my 05 windshield wipers, the drivers side wiper does not function, and although i'm sure you have heard of this problem before I had some questions for anyone who would lend me a hand.

I've read that part number 49449 and 49447 could remedy the problem if it was the bushings. However, i cant tell if its the motor or the bushing due to the fact that the drivers side wiper would does not move what-so-ever.

As i have never ventured to disassemble the wiper & linkage assembly before i am unaware if each wiper has its own independent motor or if they both run off a single motor. I know that may sound foolish, but i don't know and I know you guys will.

So it comes down to the fact that i possibly need new bushings or a new motor, if anyone has done this type if repair before i'd be very happy to hear how you did it and which part number you used.

Haven't heard of this issue before, but this is what I can tell you.

The wiper motor is directly beneath the driver side wiper. It is a one unit system (motor).
- Take off the driver side wiper
- Next remove the window valance, there are a few small pop-its next to the hood hinge. Remove the plastic next to the hood hinge.
- Remove a couple of the plugs that secure the foam/rubber that run along the valance.
- pull up on the corner valance and the motor is right there.
- Inspect the motor and connecting rod

This is the best I can tell you.
