I've been refraining at the other site from this immaturity, but I figure it's cool over here. I just got my big turbo installed and tuned... Deadbolt 20g with FMIC, etc... nice setup. Anyway, just thought I'd tell a quick funny story about a 350z

He was weaving through traffic like a friggen maniac so I let him be, but eventually things opened up and we ended up next to eachother. He slowed down to 60 so I'm thinking "sweet, z's are supposed to be fast, good time to compare the ol' big turbo LGT to a quick car." I hear him floor it, so I do the same, next thing I know I"m shifting into 4th and he's far enough away in my rear view that I can barely tell it's a Z... hehe I love this thing and the surprises it gives ****y people like many "sporty" car owners like z's and mustang owners, etc... Anyway, thought I'd share my first real comparo with the big turbo, I'm curious to see if the members here rip me a new asshole for posting this...

<nudge> that must be a popular road course for it to have traffic. <nudge> Good job killing the Z.

Are they really that slow? A buddy of mine at work swears it's a quick car.

Thanks.

Good Kill, and yea, Z's are not as fast as I thought either. I pulled slowly on one at highway speeds in my auto Stage 1 Wagon a few months ago. It suprised me too, becuase I figured he would pull me. I have always heard how good those Nissan 3.5's acceleration at highway speeds. Guess not!
Oh, and 04+ Maxima's can forget it too. They are even worse on the highway. I used to be afraid to run those in my 04 Grand Prix GTP at highway speeds. NOt any more in the Legacy!

I was really suprised too, but I've shut down a couple at highway speeds too. I thinks it more about driver skill then performance though.

Be careful on those Z's though. With just cat delete pipes and an exhaust they are putting down low 13's in the 1/4

It must have one restrictive exhaust on that thing

It must have one restrictive exhaust on that thing

They probably have a whole lot of mufflers and resonators to get that exhaust tone. Sounds goood but very restrictive.

the exhaust isn't too bad at all. I ran a G35 before the LGT. They have more intake issues than anything. I replaced the intake box, runner and plenum and pulled an extra 18 rwhp on mine. To be honest, they just don't have that much hp to begin with. The 03 had 260/260 (crank), and even the 06 is only rated at 298/280 (crank). I threw away a few grand on bolt ons and still never did much more than a stock LGT. No more N/A!!! It's F/I all the way.
