I'm sure there's a lot of regional slang that doesn't make sense to people outside the region.

I grew up in Michigan, and they used some odd words too, like "bogue" that meant rude or extremely unkind, but since moving away from Michigan, I've never heard it again. Now I go back to visit, hear "bogue" and think, "What planet did you guys come from?"

Out of context, slang can seem odd or meaningless. In context, it seems perfectly normal. I was just having a little fun with "shibby" because I hadn't heard it before, but I bet you haven't heard of "bogue". (not that I'll admit I have...)

Just to put the thread back on track: I'm in Atlanta, Georgia. Are there any Legacy gatherings down this way? I know there are many Impreza gatherings around here, but don't hear of Legacy get-togethers.

I don't know about your area, but in my area there are no Legacy gatherings. It is more of a Subaru gathering. It is mostly Imprezas but I always show up and they welcome me. All I can say is that if you can't find any Legacy meets, make friends with some STIs :)

I went to a Subaru meet at Perry Subaru in Virginia Beach yesturday and there were 108 Subarus there and over 200 people.....of that 108 7 of us were Legacy's......so I hope there are more out your way :D

Make friends with some STIs? I wouldn't want to embarass them. With my AccessPort Stage II I've got as much (or more) hp and substantially more torque. They would feel inferior. I wouldn't want to put those poor STI drivers through such grief. Their egos might not be able to handle that!

If you can, when you go to these meets, if there are Leggys there, tell them about org. That's how I found out about it. No one ever mentions it on .com for fear of being banned!

Nah, I've been going by SubieDriver for at least a couple of years on legacygt.com, as well as other sites, and Sub!eDr!ver on Nabisco (I flipped the 'i' upside down because SubieDriver was already taken on Nasioc).

I like to do this, becuse I enjoy upgrading to a larger home every 5-6 yrs too. If you don't space your time and money right, you're just going to be straped with auto payments every month and wouldn't have the extra dough to save away for something nicer down the road....example: new home, vacation, toys, kids...etc. It's all about planning for the future.
