Here's another DIY inexpensive IC sprayer on LGT sedans for under $20. Went to Home Depot and pick up these items:

Irrigation department
180 degree 1/4 micro sprayer
1/4 Micro tubing (at least 1 foot)
1/4 Barb connector

Paint department
All purpose epoxy glue

Were I live it gets over 100 degrees for at least 3 months during the summer. Therefore, I have no use of my windshield wipers or sprayer. For this project I disconnect both of them, which in return only takes less than 5 mins to reconnect if needed.

Step 1 - unbolt the air duct from the hood.
Step 2 - dill a hole between the two plastic fastners (3/16 drill bit)
Step 3 - epoxy the sprayer in the hole (on top) facing the IC.
Step 4 - Once dryed, reattached the air duct and disconnect the sprayer hose closes to the first windshield sprayer.
Step 5 - Plug the Barb into the sprayer hose and attach about 1 foot of micro tubing. Then plug the micro tubing to the spayer.

Make sure you disconnet the wiring to the wipers under the driver side fascia.

Here are the pictures for the install above. Notice I have two different types of spayers. The black one works great with a full misty spray. The blue is fair, it just sprays. The black spayer has a more open tip spayer which gives a better coverage of spray.

Advantage: cheap and easy to do. No additional tank or motor for sprayers or timers. Spray when needed without wipers moving.

Disavantage: Disconnecting wipers and sprayers for winshield. Takes about 5 mins to reconnect when needed.

Make sure to run more water in the tank since winshield fluid is know to be flammable.

Very nice. I use my windshield washer too, so I'd need to get creative and add a 2nd resivoir and some type of spray button, but this would help fight the heat soak on the hot days here!

Next project is to work on a seperate switch so you don't have to disconnect the wipers. Plus I looking into different spayers for better coverage. Right now I'm covering about 60% of the I/C, which is better than nothing.

I'll be watching for that. I'd love a switch that sprays one out of every 10 seconds when on, or kicks in at a certain engine temp or rpm. I dunno, I dont want to have to be worrying about switched when I am driving aggressively, when the i/c sprayer would be most useful.
