How was Vegas? Check out any hot clubs or ranches?;)

No ranches, In vegas, there's really no reason to have to pay for it! Enough smokin hot ladies there, just looking to have a good time too, that it would be easy to get lucky, were I not a loyally married man. We had a blurr of a great time. In bed after 6am every morning, up by 9 to do it all over again! YeeHaw!

Oh yeah! Vegas with couples has to have at least one guys night, and one gals night. I'd be up for it. 11 hour drive full of heat soak! Something to consider!!! Though now my wife wants to have a chill, relaxing vacation next, so Vegas again may have to wait for another year. I'm thinking Puerto Viallarta next, or Cozymel. Somewhere cozy, warm, mixed drinks, calm surf and great eating!

Great qualities to look for Bskey
So I got my windows tinted. I was originally going to do 35% but of course when we looked at the samples we decided to go with 20%. I don't know what I was thinking cause I should have known it was going to be darker on the car. Well when I came back to pick it up it was darker than hell. It looks ok but I guess it is something I am going to have to get used to. I had 20% on my last car, but it looked good on that one. I'll post pics later and you guys can tell me what you think....
Bskey
06-13-2007, 06:39 AM
my wife has 20% on her car, and it looks great! I think mine is 35% ( I bought it tinted, so I'm not sure) but I wouldn't mind it a bit darker.

Got it. I normally don't have to do them very often, but I have a half-dozen that had to be done by the end of this week. Sure, I had several weeks to do them in, but did I? Of course not! I wait 'til the last minute, then cram them all in on the final two days. That's the best way!

I've been in mortgage and real estate for several yrs now. To figure out if your ready to buy a house is determine by your DTI = Debit to Income.
Add up all your monthly payments - Example, car payments + other loans + credit cards...etc. You do not have to add utility bills or curent rent/mortgage.
Divide your debit and Gross Monthly Income to come up with your DTI. If your DTI is lower than 40%, then your in good shape.

But it's only a "tuned by STI," meaning they threw the STI parts bin at a Spec.B, but no changes to engine, transmission, or body, other than add-on parts. The ECU rumor means they may introduce some changes to the ECU to boost hp & torque, but that's purely speculation. Maybe they'll massage the SI-Drive specifically for the STI models.
A couple of well-connected folks at Nabisco were talking about this a few months ago (Feb/March), and dropping hints. I just happened to join in the discussion.
The facts:
1. There are two product designations for the '08 model year, one for Legacy and one for Outback, reserved for as-yet-unannounced products. The codes: 8AZ & 8DZ. The 'Z' designation seems to indicate they will be top-of-the-line models.
2. There will be a Subaru unveiling of something at SEMA.
3. There will be something announced relating to the ECU
The hints dropped led to the conclusion that they were Legacy and Outback tuned by STI models, and that there would be an ECU tune.
Them's the facts as I know them. Anything else is speculation, such was what would constitute a "tuned by STI' for the USDM, or what the ECU announcement might be.
Have a gander at the thread. Look at the chart posted by Jon [in CT] (post #1), then read Unit91's comments in post #38 & 43. Read through the whole thread. It's very interesting...

There were so many people complaining about the loss of the Legacy wagon in the US, so I figure this is their way of appeasing them.

Jon, post 142: "As in Japan, you should expect the "tuned by STI" version to have the same power/torque as the vehicle on which it's based."

By the way, that Outback STI at the Tokyo Auto Show was based on the Outback 3.0R wagon, which apparently had a 5EAT tranny. That doesn't necessarily mean the US will get that combination though.

That would be the badness! Twin Scroll FTMFW!
Twin-scroll is doubtful. Both the Legacy and Impreza got a twin-scroll in Japan and none of ours got that, so I doubt we would get one for a turbo H6, if it ever comes. They'd probably have to design a new turbo especially for it, as there are no turbo H6 engines in production by Subaru.
Actually, I believe that the B11S had two turbos, but I don't think they were twin-scroll.
Hmm, speaking of the B11S, I wonder if the next-generation Legacy will take any styling cues from it? Hmmm, food for thought. Fodder for rumors. I suppose we won't know for another couple of years.

It's such a shame that the B11S showed so much potential back in 2003, and they appear to have wasted it. It was a little bigger than the Legacy, could seat four, and had almost 400 hp and 400 lb/ft of torque. It would have been an awesome car (if they had given it a nose-job). Though I believe it didn't have any emissions equipment on it, so production power probably would have been around 350. That's enough for me!
I would have bought that instead of my '05 GT if it would have been available. It was a running prototype in '03, so we know they had a working twin-turbo H6 then, but it's never made it to production. Such a shame.
Four years later, we're still waiting. One of the rumors floated was that they were having problems getting it to pass US emissions, but I don't really believe that's the reason it never came. They've had four years to work out the bugs. I think they just panicked, and were afraid it wouldn't sell well, so they never followed through.
Oh well, each year Subaru sales go up increases the likelihood that they'll bring something like that over to us. I'm hoping for that turbo H6 in 2010. If it comes in something like the B11S, all the better!

Right, the earlier Subies had twin Turbos (just like the earlier Evos). The first one was called the primer to the main trubo. The primer was smaller and connected to the exhaust man. which then spooled up the main one to produce more power with less lag. Now with the twin scoll, there's no need for the primer anymore.

That's hard to say. I was already cat-free before even getting my AccessPort, so I went directly to a Stage II map. Before AccessPort, it felt substantially stronger and quicker-reacting than stock, so going to Stage II didn't make that big of a difference to me. The turbo definitely spools quicker with no cat in the up-pipe. I think the powerband just feels a little meatier with the AccessPort, and it bumps your redline up.
BA (Before AccessPort), I would frequently hit the rev-limiter, AA (After AccessPort), I believe the redline is 7200 (maybe 7250), and I hit it much less frequently. Just having that extra headroom makes a difference for me.

That Lexus is Sweet too!
Oops, I was mistaken. It's the Supra concept that has the hood features similar to the B11S. Note the center section up near the windshield. The B11S does have the ridge running up through the middle, but the shape of that middle section is quite similar:

I dig those headlights on the Supra. How about those LED headlights on the new Audi R8; those are awesome!

I haven't decide if I like the new Subie, not quite sure what kind of market this would fit in. But then again, Subaru is know to think out-side the box.

By "new Subie," are you referring to the B11S? It would probably compete with the BMW M5. It's a shame they never brought it to production. I suppose the world wasn't ready for something from Subaru that would trounce an M5.
Hopefully they'll revive its spirit in something else, like maybe the next-generation Legacy.

Yes, referring to B11S. I could see it competing against the BMW 5's. Remember the SVX, cool looking car, but the average buyer was not ready for a future looking car. At least Subaru gave it a go.

My wife cannot stand the windows on the SVX; she is always commenting about how challenging it would be at a drive through
....I think their hot!

I was absolutely ready for the SVX. Too bad I was too broke to be able to afford one during its run. Now that I can afford one, they don't make them anymore (though my current GT easily outperforms it).
I remember reading one article on the B11S saying that it was in the spirit of the SVX. I guess that spirit didn't have any life in it.

I wouldn't mind getting an SVX and dropping a TT H6 in it with dog box gears.

Work? What's that? No, I didn't have to go in to the office today, but that just means I goof off at home rather than goofing off at work...
