I come from a DSM background - and from my younger days, they all looked kinda Ricy/"2Fast2Furious"-ish.

One of my favorite attributes of the LGT is that it really does look like "an average family sedan," and fits in well with the popular Honda Accord/Toyota Camry. This degree of anonymity makes speedy travel something that I no longer have to break a sweat over. :)

Bskey
06-11-2007, 08:44 AM
I concur. The fact that it still looks like a mature car, as compared to the WRX's rice racer image, I can still have all the great handling, power and look, and get the safety too!

Kid tested, mother approved!

my least faorite part is that goddamned lower nut and bolt in the rear struts. (if you have done springs, shocks, or coilovers you know which one)

I also love the under the radar looks of the car. Of corse when you are slammed on bronze 18x8.5's with bulging spokes it kind of screams out drug dealer

I don't like the stupid armrest extension. My husband likes it and uses it. Everyone in a while when I shift I will accidentally hit it and it will pop up. Scares the crap outta me and then I can't shift cause I hit it and don't know it is there......definately an option that could have beeen left out. I suppose I could always remove it though huh? :stupid:

Bskey
06-12-2007, 08:58 AM
Yeah, then sell it on Ebay for $100. People either love or hate it, it seems. I have never experienced the armrest extension.

Bskey

I have the cloth seats though, so it's not nearly as big a deal for me as it is for you, but I have black interior too, so it still gets hot, just not sticky! My shift knob gets hot! I may have to abandon the STI knob during the summer for a leather-ish knob so I dont burn my hands.

SubieChik
06-12-2007, 10:44 AM
I would imagine that your shift knob is hot. Although switching to leather might not me much better. Mine has burned me a couple of time....along with the steering wheel. Maybe I am just a wus. I was actually thinking about putting a small cloth over it when my car is sitting for the majority of the day. That'll at least get it outta the direct sunlight. As far as the black seats go....red is not much better im sure:tdown:

Bskey
06-12-2007, 11:32 AM
Yeah, the steering wheel is about as hot as the shift knob in the sun! Ouch!

Bskey

You know, you can hook it on the top of your trunk, your spare tire thingy, so you can get to your spare tire tray without holding the cover, it holds itself. You know? Go out to your car and look. It's built into the floormat over your spare tire, it's plastic.

Isn't finding license plates fun? I was thinking if a lot of them. TRBOBXR, AWDTRBO.....I can't even begin to list all of the ones I thought of. I also really like JSPECB. The only reason that I am not going with that one is because I have absolutely nothing on my vehicle that is JSPEC right now....but I just love how the JPEC and the SPECB go together to form JSPECB. Kinda kewl. Anywho....I just like LEGGASTI because we have the same motor.....granted it is tuned different, but it is still the same. I don't know if it is worth all of the bad looks I will be getting though (considering my car is still stock so calling it an STI would be lying.....but who is gonna know?....as long as I don't try and race anyone):D

mmmm.....Legacy GT. Front speakers are hard to come by for the Leggy as aparrantly they require a shallow speaker. Search .com.

I love it when my car is cleaned and waxed, but it lasts such a short time on the RBP that it's sad.

DONE! I always do my research before I buy. They are 6.5 and the depth is only 2". I've found several speakers out there already. Not a big deal.

SubieChik
06-15-2007, 04:35 AM
I have had my Rockfords in my last 3 cars. I have 2 10" P1s. Hey P1s might be the cheapest ones that they sell but the stereo shop in Alaska hooked me up and made it sound awesome. Nobody could believe they were P1s. It also helps if you have a good deck. I got a Kenwood Exelon that I paid $400 for......quite expensive, but well worth it.

It sucks cause I can't hook up my speakers to this car without spending a little bit of money. Since you all know, they don't make a dash kit for our car.....so people usually put the stereo in the top "pocket", but sucks for me I have my navigation there.....which I won't give up so.....I am thinking about getting one of those processor thingys that is a crossover and an equalizer and everything. It costs either $345 or $599 depending on how many features you wnat with it. The stereo shop uses a blue tooth to program it and then as long as you don't touch your factory settings it will sound fenominal! You like that word huh?? Anyways I think I am going to go that route because there is no way I am hooking up my speakers to a factory deck....sounds kinda like dookie (pun intended) :D If you have had a system in you car before you can tell the difference between a factory deck and an aftermarket deck. But if you haven't, the it is worth the cheap crossover price because you haven't heard anything different :) Anywho I am going to get rid of my 2 10s and probably just get 1 T2 12". I need the space in my trunk for a stoller now

WoW! For a second there I felt like TSi+WRX

SubieChik
06-15-2007, 04:40 AM
Ugh so I just went on crutchfield and found that processor for $299! I was like well that makes sense because by the time you add shipping it will be up to the price that the local stereo shop is charging for it ($345). Well crutchfield has free shipping on that product....so what the :censored:. Oh well....

The most common way to get great sound out of our factory head unit is the JL Audio CleanSweep. It's a jumping block if you want a clean look and great sound. There are a ton of reviews and posts about it in .com.

^ Purttty! :) Me likie.

I've honestly always wanted to put either the spats or a set of JDM OEM mudflaps on Winky, but the budget never worked out....there's always something else that I wanted "more," either for true go or for interior disco.

Besides, trying to debate between one or the other always tied up that decision, too.

Dookie
06-16-2007, 12:02 PM
One thing I don't like when you roll down the windows is the gasping air that flows in. Also don't like the way those air defusers look on the door either.

TSi+WRX
06-16-2007, 04:53 PM
^ I was a 2-door person until the LGT - and I almost always had the windows down, unless it's for the comfort of my passengers, or if I need to be "presentable" at my destination. ;) As-such, when I switched to a four-door vehicle as my daily driver, well.....let's just say that I had the same complaint as you do above. :o

Another LGTer gave me a very helpful hint:

With the LGT, if you don't want a face-full of air, remember to roll down your rear windows (all the way) when you've got the front windows open. That'll help a bunch. :)

Dookie
06-16-2007, 05:20 PM
I've done that and it does work, except my child in the back doesn't like it. She then gets a face full of air.

I like having fresh air, just not at 65 mph.

TSi+WRX
06-16-2007, 06:55 PM
^ +1 - it doesn't work, at all, for the back-seat passenger! :(

Anna gets overwhelmed, too, at any speed over about 30 MPH - she's getting better, though, but then again, she's always liked the wind full in her face, ever since she was born. :)
