dome light doesnt work

So I posted this on .com and havent had any luck yet so I figured I would try here. I did the Map light mod where the map lights come on with the dome when the door is open and messed up. Long story short, now none of the lights come on when the doors are open except the puddle lights in the doors. the dome and map lights will turn on with their respective switches. I think it may be the BIU (body integrated unit) but im not even sure where that is!!! Does anyone here have any ideas?

Yeah, he's a smart cookie. HVAC engineer by trade, and he has a nice OBXT!

I have talked to him but he is not sure whats going on. I think it may be the body integrated unit.

No luck with the other member? Mine turns on and off with the switch, but the light wont turn off when set to the doors, Subaru says its the BIU, and wants 700 for another one :P A fellow .com member said he was willing to take a look at it but havnt had time to meet up to look at it.
(its the black box directly under the steering wheel)

Thats the 2nd thing I did after checking the fuses.
As I said, subaru said the BIU has a short and needs to be replaced :(
