I might add that i had this code just like everyone else before my turbo went(south, north, boom) out i just finished installing a vf46 in place of the vf40 but am getting the code again. No screen in the oil line to the turbo, new oil, will change again only has 250 miles. Up pipe cat was perfect only 66k on vehicle starting to get a little peaved at this thing. i guess tonight i will pull off the oil feed lines to the cam adv. which do they consider bank 1
thanks again for the input guys bird |

how large of diameter should the oriface in the side of the banjo bolt be. If that is an actual turbo bolt above my inlet oriface is maybe 1/8 in or smaller and took it back off again last night to double check for screen/filter nota while i was there i took out and cleaned both of the cam adv. solenoid/valves and changed oil again. thanks for the input

First, I would change your oil twice and run the vehicle, clear the codes and see if it comes back.
ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS)(H4DOTC) > Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) DTC P0011 INTAKE CAMSHAFT POSITION - TIMING OVER-ADVANCED OR SYSTEM PERFORMANCE (BANK 1) DTC DETECTING CONDITION: • Two consecutive driving cycles with fault • GENERAL DESCRIPTION ![]() TROUBLE SYMPTOM: • Engine stalls. • Erroneous idling CAUTION: After repair or replacement of faulty parts, conduct Clear Memory Mode and Inspection Mode .STEPCHECKYESNO1.CHECK FOR ANY OTHER DTC ON DISPLAY. Is any other DTC displayed? Inspect the relevant DTC using “List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)”. ![]() ![]() 2.CHECK CURRENT DATA. 1) Start the engine and let it idle. 2) Inspect the VVT advance timing and OCV duty output using Subaru Select Monitor or general scan tool. NOTE: • Subaru Select Monitor For detailed operation procedure, refer to the “READ CURRENT DATA FOR ENGINE”. ![]() • General scan tool For detailed operation procedures, refer to the general scan tool instruction manual. Is the VVT advance timing more than approx. 0°C and the OCV duty output more than approx. 10%? Inspect the following items and repair or replace if necessary. • Engine oil (amount, contamination) • Oil pipe (clog) • Oil flow control solenoid valve (clog or contamination in oil passage, settling at spring, stuck at valve) • Intake camshaft (sludge, damage at camshaft) • Timing belt (timing mark aligning) A temporary malfunction. Conduct the following to clean the oil passage. Replace the engine oil and idle the engine for 5 minutes, then replace the oil filter and engine oil. |
