Default Project - Front lip

Started this project a few months ago of redoing a newer style for a front lip. When I first started out, I was just using foam to get the basic look and idea. Then it would be covered with fiberglass and painted to match the car.

I've put the project to the side for awhile and now I thinking about completing it. Here are some pics of the original foam cut out. Let me know what you guys think.

Neat! It looks NASCAR-esque!

I guess it's more of an apron-type lip.

I would like to start a project I've had brewing in my head for a few years now. I want to make an all-metal undertray for the front of the car to go along with my front lip. It would have to sit in between the bumper and the lip, and continue back to create better airflow underneath the car. I've got the whole design planned out in my head, I just need to figure out how to make it out of sheet metal and figure out attachment points.

^ See if anyone around you has the Rallitek skid-plate.

I don't think that you'll be able to use it for your needs, as it won't be as complete as your idea - but you could brainstorm your mounting points (as well as gain insight into potential clearance issues and how to solve them), at least a couple of them, from a look-see.

^^^ Great advice. That would save you a lot of time. That skid plate is on my list of wants.

So I'll be borrowing a spare set of jackstands this weekend and cutting out a cardboard template for the undertray hopefully. You think cardboard would be strong enough to just use as the undertray? Even though I wouldn't be able to drive the car in the rain...

You can if you wrap in cloth then fiberglass it.
