Exhaust questions

good morning (10:54am) i have a question about a exhaust system. I currently have a COBB DP going into my stock exhaust system.. I had posted a while back about a exhaust smell that was coming into the cabin of the car at idle. I have talked to a few people and they said thats the nature of the beast because i have cobb DP. My next question is it that if i order a Turbo XS mid and y pipe assembly could that take away my smell coming into the cab? Im keeping my stock mufflers (wanna remain a sleeper) with this system is there gonna be more of a rumble being how there is no resonator on this kit? please let me know!

Until you have the piping on your car - or unless you can find someone else with the same exact setup you have - how it will sound is going to be an unknown.

The missing resonator could simply make the sound more harsh. There's just too many different factors at-play.

In terms of the smell, every time you ditch a catalytic converter or replace it with a "performance/higher-flow" one, you're going to get a bit more of that less-processed smell. That's, as those whom you've talked with have said, is just the nature of the beast.

Unless the problem is an actual leak either at the junctions/gaskets or through actual piping material (including the resonator), replacing piping without adding or subtracting cats typically will not appreciably change how the vehicle smells.
