Nice job AD If you do decide to do the piping to the wheel well, makes sure to take pics.

^ I keep meaning to do that, but I am not sure how much extra "gunk" I'd pipe into the engine compartment, particularly in the winter months.

My plan had been to take a page from TRS on .com - to cut the aero/splash underpanel, and where he uses a mesh-ended "tube," to instead source a second-hand "air ram" from our stock intake assembly, and use that as my "duct."

I've always had either commercial CAIs or home-brew ductwork to get additional air to my "short-ram" intakes on my DSMs, and I've never had any problems with water-ingestion or road-grime/fouling issues - even though most of these rides are "slammed." However, given how sensitive the LGT's MAF element appears to be (i.e. water/condensation issues on un-modified AEM CAIs), I've been reluctant to pursue this.....

Fancy way of sayin your chicken. I ingested about an 8oz glass of H20 on my Eclipse. I had an AEM CAI and I was lowered. It was at night it was raining hard and I couldn't judge the depth of the standing water. But I saw a Ford Fiesta make it thru coming the other way so I decided 2 try it. Yea the Fiesta probably wasn't lowered w/a CAI but I can make it. .......I didn't make it. My stepdad and I tore that thing apart and when I pulled the oil drain plug I got that 8oz of water out. Then we took the engine apart and 1/2 of the the connecting rods were bent @ a 45* angle. So my stepsis' firend is part owner @ a junkyard and we got another 3.0 V6 w/26k miles on it 4 $700. And we installed that engine and never had any engine trouble. Then about a year later I traded it on the LGT. ......And I lived happily heatsoaked everafter. The End.

On the rear bumper where the reflectors usually are you have those plastic insert pieces. Is that only offered for the "tuned by STi" version or can you buy those for the regular '08 LGT's?

the vents on the Libo are standard for our cars in australia, but they have no function at all. Guys on com ordered some from SOA via one of our forum members www.liberty.asn.au but they found out the openings on the bumper are completely different between US and Aussie so no good. I got to agree though that the reflectors are not very attractive.

Looks awesome Dave!! Me likey!

TSI, looking at Dave's front lip, I remember reading about the DIY front lip on .com and seeing that you did it. Thinking you should start a thread about DIY front lips, since I'm interested in doing this very soon.

^ No thread to start, bruddah.

All the tricks and tips are in that very thread on .com - that's what I went off of, and it worked GREAT!

The best thing about the rubber lip is that here in NE-Ohio, I don't have to worry about either our steep driveway apron angles nor the typical winter/spring road-debris - not to mention snow/ice.

Even if it ripped (as it more than likely will, a couple of years down the line, when the rubber gets old and hard from UV exposure), I'll just tear it all off, and put new back on. Super easy, super inexpensive.

Great for those of us who live in areas where a lip is otherwise a no-go.
